There are certain eateries that due to massive bombardment of commercials they enjoy an aura of Mystique not deserved not by a long shot.. We believe the overall quality of the stuff that they sell is nothing to write home about and yet the public is basically breaking down the doors to give them their business…For this post  we will only name 3 places today in order to speed the read..

 In our opinion 711 their cooked  food is no better than dollar store fare, and their other products that they carry is way over priced, yet you have to wait for a parking space.. McDonald’s “The king of Advertising” They raise and process their own meat but their food remains substandard as far as we’re concerned. Olive Garden another place you heave to wait not only for a parking spot but a table as well. Dunking Donuts another place.. Their donut once the lynch pin of their operation now seems secondary as their donuts appear smaller & lighter in weight plus not as tasty as years past.. But I’d go to Wall Street & buy their stock in a second . All of these joints do more business than they did ever before.. It’s almost as if the public under went some sort of mass hypnosis. You want to throw your money away?  Instead of spending it at these places .. Take your money over to your toilet and flush its quicker.. It”s easier… bottom line either you’ll never see your  hard earned money again …

      Listen folks beware of the phantom Doctor bill.. It happens each and every time any patient stop seeing a particular Doctor. What most office staff billing managers  do is  (and most of the Doctors do it)  is they mail out a bill to you  for services months back they claim I that you failed to pay.. . You can check your bank statements and you’ll find it was not paid..The reason that it will never appear on any  of  your debit and credit cards and that the money was  not remitted to the Doctor’s office is because you were never there on that day. What are we to do?   Most of not all Doctors offices and clinics either buzz you in upon payment or buzz you out after you payed for your visit.. We all know it a bogus bill sent to us. However how  can anyone prove that they never received service on that day in question? If you refuse to pay they will refer it to a recovery firm (collection agency), and if you fail to pay they will ruin your credit.What a few slick Doctors office pulls is they know that you paid the bill let’s say for augment sake November 20th of this year .. Several months later they will send you a fresh bill. For a specific amount of money.You’l say to the Cashier that’s you paid that dates bill.They continue to  say no it wasn’t paid by you.Yes it was never paid only because it contains same visit but now has newly added procedures that were never actually not  different but merely renamed to appear as new functional  preformed on the day of your last visit

 

  I’m a pretty decent cook, but sometimes like everyone else I’m looking for a short cut and I consider a good canned product to be just what I need. Once a big manufacturer purchases another company’s product.. The magic from that food product disapears for good.. I  was a big fan of  B & M Baked Beans about 20 odd years back.. When I noticed it  didnt taste the same as before.. I read the ingredient label and instead of saying  brown sugar it listed cane sugar and molasses. (the 2 ingredients for making brown sugar)  It also no longer had the small peice of salt pork placed inside each jar or can. I phoned the contact number on the can was informed that the company was sold to another outfit. Same with Rolling Rock beer.. I first drank Rolling Rock when I was in the service, it came in small 6 or 8oz.bottles this was (Circa 1969) It was unique amoung the tastes of other American beers on the market.   AnheuserBush of Budweiser fame took it over.. Not Same anymore.. Hence I will never buy anymore. Sometimes a big  national outfit buys a smaller local  canned product just to scrap it and aquire it supermarket shelf space .There is a plethora of canned products that I could name but for the purpose of keeping this post moving I’ll just mention a few inorder for the readers to get the jist of my thought on this matter.  What can we except today when the todays consumers   by in large  loves McDonald’s  Domino’s Pizza and Olive Garden.. Heaven help us!

    Many Auto manufacturers have or intend to cut their new car warranty time. Toyota is advertising 2year 25,000 mile warranty.. This has been reduced from 3 years 35,000 miles.  Chevrolet and GMC has also reduced drive train from 100 000 miles to 60,000.

They apparently are pushing the “exstended warranty” now.. Most auto companies have a plethora of warranty options available past the initial 2 or 3 years that you get include when you purchase a new car.

We  at The Lerman Report never saw or heard this mention led once on any mall media outlet. Get use to less is not more

     Can anyone tell us what ever happened to the Hero Sandwich ?   Today they will refer to it as a ‘Sub’ or a Hoagy.  However in N.Y. at one time it only went by one name and one name only “A Hero Sandwich .”All that went to the way side.. Gone are the days went you ordered a Hero at an Italian Eatery and they actually hollowed out the center of the bread to load it up with more stuff. What we despise and  loath is when you order a Hero and instead  of puting The veal Parm or Egg plant in a some sort of baking dish in order to heat up… They place it right on the bread itself  to heat.  To us  that just leads us to believe that they don’t get a fresh  bread delivery on a daily basis.  When they do that all I can say is that it leaves a lot to be desired and I don’t care for it one bit. Then there is the club sandwich ( which is also some sort of a Hero Sandwhich). That can found at  any Jewish Deli ..At one time  it was also a Huge Sandwich.. well those days are long gone now.Today it has become a  very small  sandwich .They slice the bread on the bias to make it appear larger(their fooling no one) plus every  Jewish or German Style Deli as their slicing the Cold Cuts for their sandwiches the meat immediately hits a scale ..They maintain the exact weight that goes on your sandwich not a speck more . They  have it down to an exact science.Fnally there is the” dressed sandwich”.. That only means more lettuce and tomato less meat.  The Hero Sandwich is not what made the hero sandwich famous for

Who hasn’t  made a phone call only to hear the warning “This Call May Be Recorded For Quality Control or Training Purposes”

Let us at the International Herold tell you exactly what that means.. Number one there is no such thing as training purposes or for quality control. The Insurance Industry has lobbied lawmakers both on the State & Federal level to have that statement Paramount to an acceptance of their verbal agreement. The real reason is that the outfit that your calling will record your conversation is to record you if you  say something threatening, commiting liable,say anything about a commission of a crime. If none of that occurs then the recording gets erased. However if they (the company that’s recording you) says or admits fault  or make promises that they won’t keep, makes false statements or any form of negligence on their part then you can be rest assured that it will be erased.. Its as simple as that.

Keep in mind that even if either you or the other party records a phone call and even there is no warning that cannot be admissable in open court but a Judge still may listen to it in his Chambers.

 It’s a very sad commentary on the American way of life.. Those fortunate enough to reside here in the U.S.A.  We have the best supermarkets than any country on Earth.. Our meat and produce supply is unlimited. However it’s not the high Fructose Cornell Syrup that’s doing us all in.. Its the amount of unnecessary garbage  that we are consuming.

     When I was Growing up in the 1950″s you were lucky if you had 10 varieties of breakfast cereal on the grocers shelves.. Today the supply tremendous, one can go to any supermarket and you’ll see an entire row dedicated to just breakfast cereal. Bakery products that’s another culprit. Every supermarket has its own fresh bakery on premises.. Plus the pre made package cakes cookies and donuts the amount of shelf space that they get us staggering.

    The potato chip isle  is another one of the culprits it extends from here to next week.  When I was Growing  up we were a family of  four and we only had a quart bottle of soda between us four at the supper table..and there as still some left over, today people are drinking soda like crazy. The amount and variety of restaurants and eateries is staggering.. America is the culinary capital  ON Earth.. No other NATION has the amount of different ethnic restaurants than in the America. I get highly annoyed when someone from another nation comes to America and some putz takes them to a Mc Donalds to show off American food. The amount of all your can eat buffets are just unbelievable.. What a concept “all you can eat” you’ll find it nowhere but here.

     All the exercise at the gym doesn’t men squat.. No body growing up everybody  plays   ball  anymore today.  When I was Growing up everyone played ball or some street or sand lot sport of some kind.  Today nobody puts down their smart phone.. You wanna loose weight then you have to one important exercise…

         I don’t know about you but I like a clean car and bring it into the car wash every 2 weeks. Now they  are getting way out of line with their prices. They charge  for a full wash including, wax ,interior and tire shine  $24.00 plus I always  leave the workers a $3.00 tip.. Now the  workers in the back end that clean your wheels before they drive your car on to the belt have their hands out for a tip too ..They put up a sign “We do not share Tips with the front end workers and they started displaying  a big clear Tip Jar..If its busy  I make believe that I drop a  Dollar Bill in the Jar, but if it’s slow like when I’m the first customer in the morning I can’t get away with that and have to throw a buck in the Jar. That brings  the tariff up to $28.00, tax and tip included. The straw that broke the Camels Back was when I witnessed the workers cleaning my wheels with that heavy rough wisk utility broom and as they were done with the wheels preceded to use the broom on my hood and doors..They holla “Brushless car  wash” bull.. By the way it’s the same way at every car wash facilty. Now all these  car wash places hire immigrant  workers and I will say this right from the start “That They are the hardest workers in America’ but get paid very little just like all their restaurants do  with their employees.. however the owners  charge a premium price on their services, Simply Outrageous. High time to boycott the car car wash places untill they lower thier  prices…remember when they all used to charge extra for SUV’s until the public stayed away and then they all stopped that charge.

Listen that $56.00 a month I consider that a big hit in my wallet don’t you ?

          The first time someone pulled the “suggested sales”  crap on me was when I was at Roy Rogers Roast Beef a while back.. I was on line ordering my meal and the counter person then said to me “would you like an apple pie with your order”? Sure I replied.. Low & Behold when I went to pay my bill the apple pie we charged to me.. I Complained” Hey  what’s going on why did you charge me for Apple pie? She replied back well you ordered it.. No I didn’t  you asked me if I wanted it I was under the impression that it was a  complementary gift. That was the first & last time That I fell for that.

  To make matters worse when I brought my car in for an  oil change.. The service technician or whatever you call him comes over to me with a little square price of paper with a bullseye drawn on it with a drop  oil.. He says to me while showing me that bullseye with the oil   & says “when’s the last time you changed your transmission fluid”?, I replied back” Are you telling me that there’s a problem? No he replied just asking (auto transmission fluid doesn’t have to be changed maybe for a taxi with over 100,000 miles)  I replied “Then why are you implying that somethings not right” . Or they come out with your air filter trying to scare you into buying one by them for  & 45 when you can pick one up at Pep Boys for half that.

It’s Descepitive its just plain not right. The worst is when they try to hit you up for a donation “would you like to give you Jerry’s Kids or some other organization” this happens even at Walmart.. I always reply that I shop at Walmart to save money not to give it away. I donate plenty to charity at home and in my house of worship.. If you doubt me send a self addressed stamped envelope to me and I will supply you with the documentation… But it’s not their business for to be a conduit for charity . They want to come on T. V. and say” Hey look what we collected”..If they want  to play the big shot then let them use there own money. STOP SUGGESTIVE SALES NOW!
