I remember growing up on the 1950’s..Every Man or boy had to have a fresh haircut once a month. If by any chance you had a special event to go to  in between that month such as Wedding, Bar mitzvah, Graduation, Funeral whatever you got another haircut. That’s the way it was back in the Old days. If your mother wasn’t on your case for getting a haircut then there was always a friend or relative that would steam up your mother my  mother had such a friend for the purpose of this story I shall omit her real name a refer to her as Gertrude  “You let your son walk around like that, without haircut “Yelled Gertrude to my mother. My 9mother would reply back “He don’t want to go to the barber what could I do.? Gertrude replied back” whose the boss you or him.. and my mother would give me instructions “Here’s the haircut money don’t come home with out one. You see  nobody wants. to go there years ago…the Barber Shops were hit and miss as far as getting a good haircut   years ago..you’d  walk in perhaps hair a bit long but none the less looking great …but  and you walk out looking like a shmuck/

What struck out most was the Unacceptance if the Square Back as apposed to a tapered cut. In the 1950’s only the rough crowd.. The punks.. The hoodlums all had square Backs. Gertrude pointed out to my mother some unsavory teenage punks in our apartment bldg. who sported square backs…. Gertrude steamed up my mother & my mother told me when I came home from the Barber with one.. My mother made me go back and get it tapered I can’t tell you how many times that I heard the snide remark” ” Are you posing for Holy pictures or do you want a violin “?
When I was in the service I came home on leave in Dec.27th 1967 and returned to my duty station Jan.12th 1968 everyone had clean cut Haircuts.. I used to phone home every Saturday from my duty station..Now it’s Mid February from Florida… My father asked are you growing your hair long? I told I have a crew cut plus every Monday we gave an inspection we gave to get white walls( high and close) My father informed me that along with long hair long sideburns are in too. When  I returned to N.Y.C. in March of 1968 long hair was the norm..even the old generations stopped going to the barbershop . Today  haircuts are in..I JUST THOUGHT THST I”D TELL EVERYONE HOW IT WAS BACK IN THE DAY !

Franchises and Resold Retail Business’s…Let The Buyer Beware!!!

Image result for storefront pictures

If your contemplating buying a franchise or resold retail store..watch out !!! I’m going to tell you the facts of life concerning these two type of entities..So listen up people… If you want to be a first time retailer and don’t have a good friend or relative who can show you the ropes &, guide you setting up a new business and believe me there’s a lot of things that have to be considered.. From buying shelving to product 0 and also it may require some training such as cooking, baking, dry cleaning, you name, it & guess What? If you have absolutely no knowledge from what I just mentioned then you either have to go and buy into a Franchise or Resale buisness .You’ll be at their mercy and believe me whichever one that you choose your going to be raked over the hot coals. So my good friends hold on tight because your going to be in for a rude awakening.
For the purpose of this article I’m going to omit the names the of the franchise to protect my $10,000,000 in my bank (lol I only wish)
My parents personally were good friends with a couple who lost their life savings on such a venture. They bought in to a franchise which was an eatery which will remain nameless all that I’ll say that it was on a busy truck route. The husband thought his hired help were stealing from register as he was busy land office style busy all day..So he worked the cash register himself..He then had a wake up call. When you buy a franchise lets say for example for 50,000..you put down lets say for arguments sake $20,000 & pay out the remaining $30,000…On top of that there is a franchise fee plus you must buy all your products from the Franchising Corporation including such incidentals which you can purchase elsewhere for a fraction if the price you such as paper napkins, plastic knives, spoons and forks and boy do you get a forking ..and yes they require a minimum order. Well he then decided to sell hot dogs and soup..It wasnt to long before the franchise Corp. got wind of that and told him that only their products can be sold in his store..he then snuck in products and again they warned him ..the 3rd time they threw him out & what ever amount of money he put into the business at that point was down the drain..lost.. Yes he did violate the franchise agreement but he sort if had no choice it paramount to a scam. It was the same with most franchises the hours you put in your giving them your life savings to and if you figured out ..your actually working for minimum wage.
Today they work it a bit different.they make you purchase 5 or 6 places and lets face it the only one who can afford that is an investment Broker for a Doctors group as a tax right off.
Second is the retail business.. At one time a young man purchase a candy store for instance and sold it when he was an old man ready to retire..I remember going into a dog food store for sale..I waited in the parking lot for an hour before I walked in to his store..I was inside talking to him for a good 45 minutes and not a living soul came in…I also eyed the inventory on the shelves and back room and estimated it not to have been more than $500 total.. He had told me he rakes in $6,000 a week in sales alone .. I asked then why are you selling the place? he replied back to me in a weak voice “I’m very sick I’m not well and may die soon ” I then said ”Can I go to your doctor and review your chart to see if you are as sick as you claim to be ?’ No way he replied back but this time in a load strong hefty voice..Bottom line he was full of crap..and 99 % all retail sale of business are phony too. These above mentioned stories are only an example for whats in store…..LET THE BUYER BEWARE

Please Present Coupon Before Ordering…

Image result for fast food COUNTER pictures
Have you ever been to a fast food or any restaurant that advertisers some sort of special with a coupon..they most always say” present coupon before ordering “
Now let me ask you have you ever ordered the food item at some eatery and item on sale but or presented it to them as your paying and they give you  a bit of an agreement time “hey you were supposed to present the coupon before ordering”
The simple reason is that when you have a coupon for let’s say a sandwich when you present the coupon  upon  ordering they have a smaller sandwich to give you..So be smart..always give the restaurant the coupon after they serve you  when you pay the cashier

Excuse Me ..Would you like a Bag with Your Purchase?

Related image

How many times have you went to a retail store and purchased only one item and the cashier says to you..”Do you want a bag with your purchase”?  This has become a common occurrence to Mr & Mrs  shopper .    Listen make no mistake about this policy the workers are instructed  to do this by their bosses.   I think this is a deplorable policy..Do they expect someone to exit the store perhaps located in a strip mall without a bag & walk into another shop?    How about if you buy a very personal item such as a box of Sanitary Napkins, Adult Diapers or Condoms and exit the store holding it in clear site that every shmuck and his brother can see it…they don’t care one ioda.
I was in retail business in the 1970’s and  I never let the customer bag their own groceries . In those days the Supermarkets trained the public to do it themselves how do like the way  the fast food chains trained the public to bus their own  tables…or pumping your own Gas. Like I said I never had  any of my customers leave without their purchases bagged . Remember when the  stores used paper  bags it was very costly for them..it was practically the same cost as the store rent.Today plastic bags are  very inexpensive . .Please do not make a fool out your customers  by letting them exit your store caring an unbagged item like  a putz.

Regulate Fish Farming….

I remember back in the day circa 1950 -1960’s Every Friday restaurants accommodated those who had to refrain from meat..You could  get all the flounder or  fried shrimp you can eat  at a place such as Grants for 69 cents. When you ordered Shrimp Marinara you didn’t get 4 or 5 shrimp like you get today..It was loaded with shrimp..Same goes  Shrimp with Lobster Sauce at Chinese Restaurant
We were told that Shrimp  prices would drop with the advent of Fish farming particularly with its main stays such as Shrimp & The Smoked Fish industry consisting mostly of Lox, Sturgeon and such items..Today the Farm raised fish is not any cheaper you’d be lucky if you get 5 shrimp on any shrimp dish in any restaurant . .and Lox the color  has to be added  after its retrieved from the  Fish farm as the  Orange color only occurs when they swim upstream.
The sad  thing  is that  they often  feed these Farmed Fish  Pig Dung (crap)..At least  what’s arriving  from China and We wouldn’t be a bit surprised if it’s done here in the U.S.A .also.
What is equally as bad that  many ocean caught fish are basically the same thing..they  cordoned off  a spot in the ocean with massive amount of netting and that traps fish in the confines of that netting and feeds them there “which is Paramount to the exact same thing as fish farming.”
China has built a plethora of artificial islands all throughout the Pacific Rim dotting the Pacific Ocean with Thousands of Fish Farms and as well as we already mentioned loaded with nettings of Sustained Ocean Caught Fish.
Legislation is well over do so this is never done here.Just how  healthy is farm raised Fish anyway . You be the Judge.

Time To Change Shopping Cart Procedure in America…

publix
I  remember  when some brain trust came up with the bright idea to have the  shoppers put a quarter in the Coral  in order to get a shopping cart & in order to get your  Quarter back you have had to return it to the coral..The Shoppers  rejected that system and looked for other  Supermarkets to do their shopping….it didnt work. I  haven’t been  to Florida in a while ,but when I was there I used to l used to like to shop at Publix  Supermarkets they had a system….Your  shopping cart with your  groceries went to the  left of the cashier & the shopper went to the right on a sort of circular cash out counter .  The bagger was on your left bagged your groceries as the cashier  rung them up & brought  them out to your car (a good deal of the time the bagger was a  retired senior citizen) No tipping allowed..if you tipped the bagger bringing it to your car ..they lost their job . .at least thats what I understood that occurred perhaps  I was wrong on that  but no one ever tipped.Hence no shopping carts and no more dings.

Dont Let Them Tell You Different Supermarkets Can Be Responcible for Shopping Cart Damage to Your Car Due To Neglect

Image result for shopping carts all over the place picture

Supermarkets and all other malls that have shopping carts will post a sign stating “not responsible for shopping cart damaged to your car…Not necessarily so. Did you  ever go to a hat & coat at a check at a restaurant or hotel that displayed a sign  saying not responsible for lost of damage  clothing checked..simple not true..it was already  proven in court.
If a supermarket leaves their shopping  carts in an unsafe  fashion then they are then 100% responsible. Ever go to a supermarket  or  a Wal-Mart before  opening   and  all the carts all over the place..because the management either doesn’t want  to give to workers overtime at closing time or simply  just don’t care.
What we  at the Lerman  Report .Com suggest you do is document it..Take pictures with your cell phone and send it to corporate  Headquarters . .Once its documented guess what?… Then their liable it’s as simple as that . Also every locality has a stipulation that each parking lot marked stale must conform to certain widths you should document that too..
Why should we as customers have to put up with that situation and risk damage to our cars. What irks us is that the workers who round-up the shopping carts are not high-priced employees..their lucky if they earn $12 an hour. You mean to tell me that an  outfit such as Wal-Mart which is a  Multi Billion Dollar Concern can’t have just one cart handler stay for an extra 1/2 hour overtime in order to round-up the carts at a measly cost of $6.00
