I was Bar Mitzvaded in April of 1962, like many Bar Mitzvah boys I studied my Tuchas off for 6 hrs a day of learning to sing the Haf Torah and all the trimmings.I was ever bit as good a a young Moisher Oysher I was home schooled by my Great Uncle Phil Silver who happed to grew up with Moisher Oysher and went to the same Shull in Montreal with him… His younger Brother Daniel Silver Himself was a Famous Big Time Chassan from Montreal.
My parents like many Parents in the 50′s and 60′s wanted to impress everyone so they rented a catering hall that they couldn’t afford.Each and every Bar Mitsvah boys mother would put on her mink stole and utter the words Hoo- Ha look at me while feining wealth as they lined their pockets with all the gift money indeed for their son .How in the world can they pay for it you might ask? Simple.. They kept all the Cash Gifts and Bonds and basically handed it over to the catering Hall ..If they wanted to throw a big affair Guess What? They should have saved up & used their own money or taken out a loan at the bank. Those gifts did belong to them..Shame on all of those Parents who spoiled their sons Big Day.

It s just not right.I tell everyone who is not Jewish that if their invited to a Bar mitzvahs to ask the father of the Bar Mitzvah Boy “Are you letting the Bar Mitsvah Boy keep all of the Gifts”? If they say no… then I don’t go because the parents are making a shame out of a sacred act.Today all lot of Parents when asked that replying back “where saving it for his college education” Wrong answer that money is your son’s to so as he pleases him whether it be Atlantic city casino or anything he bloody well chooses.
My parents and all those who stole their kid’s Bar Mitvah gelt Fashaired our Simchca. Sad to say keeping all cash gifts and bonds was business as usual for that entire Generation of Jewish Parents.

For neither of these 2 types described above it doesn’t matter how good-looking or how good a family man he’d make between the two it makes it very difficult for Jewish men to meet suitable Jewish partners.
The first type that we mentioned(the self hating Jew) we would describe as a character flaw. further we would go on to say that it probably stems from a both a lack of any Jewish Education and Poor Parental control.
While 2nd type (Gold Digger ) is also a character flaw as well. However we believe that this type of trait is well indoctrinated in the minds of Jewish women early on perhaps from the moment they first start to contemplate dating..probably due to advice from their circle of friends. Though this type may not be taught by Jewish Parents it is not discouraged either. For them no man who installs cable or works a low-level white color job need apply.

Lazio by his push against Suffolk County Executive Steve Levy , Thou Not Anti Semitic none the less will not sit well among Jewish Voters in the state . Most Jews in N.Y. state are register’s Democrat so Levy ‘s chances for a primary win are slim. Lazio can only be a spoiler . in N.Y . without the massive Jewish voting block his election efforts are doomed , Lazio will win in the primary , but most properly but will be handed a big defeat in the polls in the General Election for ruining it for a Jewish Politician among Jewish Voters it will send Levy to the showers for good , a big mistake for him to switch party’s he shoulds have took his chance s against Andrew Coumo as a democrat .. to Late now
The writing is on the wall for the Stimulus Supporters ,I consider it a back lash on anti stimulus vote rather than an anti Semitic one .but non the less a loss for a Jewish seat. It was a major mistake for Arlen Specter to switch to the Democratic Party. where did it get him , for a major player in t senate and someone with a lot of seniority and key seats that he sits on the democratic party in his state wouldn’t give him the respect of a non challenge for the primary race, how sad. with the demographic change another Jewish senate seat is lost and maybe for good. Today’s American Synagogues are way to expensive for the average family to afford. If today’s Synagogue intend to survive they must cut back the amount of all charitable donations that they distribute & start placing Jewish education first and utmost for American Jews.
1.Rabbis must work for less.Stop paying them those huge six figure salary’s plus a house to live in & with all expenses paid.In addition any work that the Rabbi performs outside of his employ at the Shull such as an Unveiling ..Funeral..or Wedding he should work on a split fee basic and his congregation should receive half of whatever money that he earned from such hirings.
2.Since the Rabbi earns a nice most generous salary then he should pay for his own living expenses like every other worker..
3.Cantor’s also must work for less. As right now on the High Holidays many Cantor’s get paid more than Sinatra did when he headlined at the Sands in Vegas .Keep in mind that the synagogue exists for the congregation to gather and pray and not for the Rabbi or Chazzan to earn a living.
4.Further lets put an end to all funds given to Rabbinical organization so someone who claims to be a frummer Jew can take a sabbatical and so they can sit on his Tochus for a few years at the congregation expense.
5.Hebrew should be taught not merely to read it phonetically but as a living language.Jewish Centers should take a lesson from Greek and Chinese Americans which run Greek and Chinese school for those American born of their ethic group . They learn it as fully understandable spoken language as if they were raised abroad & not something mumbled at the speed of light in Services that nobody understands one iota what is being said.
6.Except any one from whether born from a Jewish Mother or Jewish Father into the Jewish Fold . Acceptance from a Jewish Mother is not Torah Based.In Judea Roman soldiers took liberty’s with Jewish Woman sometimes against their will…hence there was a question regarding the status of any offspring of this union.Rabbi’s of that time decreed that any children born if this union are to be considered to be 100% Jews and not illegitament .Kariates consider Paternal desencion when determining the child’s status.Time to change all this..
