I am not a mid westerner I am a New Yorker born and raised in New York  City and as such remain proud of my Brooklyn New York accent.What bugs me is that the news on T.V. will never have  a native New Yorker broadcast the news.Even in our ( metro New York) area you’ll never hear a N.Y accent. Even if the on air news celebrity is a native-born and raised New Yorker the station will insist that they squelch any a semblance of New Yorkese and try to feign some sort of Mid Western accent.

I’m over 7‌0 years old now and in my day there were 3 distinct new York Accents or speech patterns ..Jewish, Italian and Irish. Each had its on style or phrasing & delivery when talking ..;Maybe a Okie from Muskogee    couldn’t tell us apart when but talking every new Yorker could ..

 The New York  style of speaking was way over exaggerated when shown on T.V.,Movies and commercials with stars such as  Fran Drescher with  her unique Jewish way of speaking with Italians over done with Sylvester Stallion &  Irish with non other with the likes of a James Cagney..Those days are long gone long .

My Grandmother  was born in New York  City back in 1901 and raised in Williamsburg Brooklyn. Like many children of non-English speaking  immigrant parents they learned to speak english from their School teachers who were for the most part Irish New Yorker’s who spoke with a South Brooklyn accent .

They pronounced words such as Birds  as Boyd’s … Church as Choych  and called oil earl..Demograhics have changed  all that and with different ethic group you don’t hear people speak that way anymore.

They try to convey that us New Yorker’s are less educated than the rest of the nation because of  the way talk.I remember when I was  in grade school and asked my teacher what is the  pronunciation “Water” or Wata”(to roll the er or affix and A at the end in place of the “Er”) both are correct she replied. New Yonkers don’t loose your N.Y.  accent.I you attend  an out of State College to get an education that’s OK….but keep the New York accent.

Grumman Should Be BARRED From  All future Government Contracts.  you see they took tax abatement’s to stay in Long Island & keep jobs here on L.I.  including deals from the Electric company for cheaper rates , then violate the spirit and everything sacred by  moving jobs out of Long Island .

          The L.I.R.R Hickville Station is now the Home Of The Hobos. I went there at night around 930  pm the waiting room was open and I was hesitant to buy a ticket at the vending machine, you see its not wise to open your wallet with all these hobos , bums and drug addicts that hangout there day and night. Where are the MTA police? not there for sure.

I was driving on the  Southern State highway now that’s a state road and the N.Y. State troopers  are supposed to patrol , however there was a Nassau county police car pulling over cars  . why I thought? they don’t patrol on that road , why not have that Nassau county police car patrol the L.I.R.R Hicksville station & assist the MTA police rather than the  State Troopers? it would be better serve the community thats  for sure , Listen up MTA  police start patrolling the Hicksville Station and let the MTA  earn that outrageous rate increase, round up the hobos and put them in shelters  away from the station ./end

        I just canceled  my service from Slomins Hicksville Laumans Road N.Y. . Why you ask because , I’m one person in a house and paying large bills to be in the cold  house , Last month December 31st I paid  $395 dollars last month today a month later I got an oil delivery and it was 129 gallons at 3.9.999 a gallon to come to  over $530 . I have these electric fireplace s I nearly barricade myself in one room leave the  fire place on and have my thermostat set at 58 degrees ,

 My house is like a barn and I;m Paying big bills , why , When I called and told them something is wrong , they told me that I couldn’t t get a tune up till July I cried , Its still January, they said well we had  a hurricane , I went to say listen I don’t care if we had an atom bomb this is poor service & I pay an additional 10 cents per gallon for service .I called back and asked to speak to a supervisor  , they didn’t put on one , Now I don’t know if my oil burner is faulty or there machine spewing out the pay amount ticket is faulty  who knows ,when was that machine last calibrated? something is wrong I’m not accusing them of fraud  or or anything not on the up and up, but at least comedown and check my oil burner before July .

 Bottom line is I canceled my service and I whole heartingly recommend that you shop for another home heating oil company elsewhere / end.

Lipa’s response  to Sandy is unacceptable , inept, slow and  it is in our opinion gross incompatance, Both counties should force Lipa to call in more out of state crews now and all expenses concurred from this storm shoddily be footed by the stock holders not the ratepayers ! For over a half a million homes  to be powerless going on to a second week is shame full.

when the smoke all clears and the crises is over LIPA must be replaced by another utility company and heads must roll end/
