..NUMC Should be Closed Down & Made Into Luxury Apartment Complex, At one time NUMC was supposed to service the poor  and the community. it may do that now ,but rather poorly at  best. WE at Nassau County & East Meadow deserve better than a teaching hospital. If they wanted to open a teaching hospital they should have put it in a third world country not in a middle  class setting where it would be accepted and greatly needed as any  medical treatment , Does anyone know exactly how many wards  and floors are closed now? WHY was the parking lot made into a storage facilely for new cars ? What we at East Meadow need is  a tax paying entity a” luxury Apartment   complex” fitting the surrounding community.  The county should retake the hospital back  from this  group an sell it to a builder  for the sole purpose of converting it into a” luxury apartment complex” and a taxpayer for East meadow .end

         Long Island (Nassau &  Suffolk County) Should Push For Statehood . The Island as it is referred  along with N.Y.C. Pays the lion share of taxes to to state.  Nearly all the Tax & Lotto Revenue comes from Long Island and N.Y.C. While the city  gets whatever  it  asks for from the state… not so the case with The Island which is Nassau & Suffolk Counties.  There must have been consensus at some point to  have Long Island pays into  the State of N.Y. Coffers but not get back an equitable share.
 Most proberly  there will never be  a Constitution amendment allowing Statehood  for L.I.so don’t hold your breath. However a push by civic groups may shake up the state to release more money to the Island .

       Make Eisenhower [Park An Industrial  Park. East Meadow residents don’t benefit  from an Industrial Park as Hicksville, Bethpage  and Plainview does .East Meadiw Tax Payers are burdened with is the Jail, Numc and Eisenhower park .All basically  are non tax payers. What we propose is  turning it into an Industrial park  and get a tax base for the EastMeadow Homeowners so their taxes can go down on their homes.
     Lets face the facts ,who uses the park?  Not homeowners and their families they don’t need a park they bar -b -que in their own backyard … so who’s using the park? .Only those who are Renters of illegal apartments who want a spot to grill up a meal .We don’t have to maintain a park for them at taxpayers cost. Make The park into a deluxe Industrial park and lift  the tax burden away from East Meadow Homeowners..end

Nassau County  to save money why don’t you have the N.Y. State Troopers take over the patrolling all state roads  in  your  county? The public wont be sacrificed any police presence and you can lay off the cops employed by your county. Why should we pay into the State Coffers and not take advantage of it?                                                                                                                               Why Pay twice for the service when you only have to pay once? Makes Cents  Dollars and cents plus an EMT should respond to vehicular  road accidents  rather than a Policeman..they make less pay and free police where they can  be put  to better use   ..end

Special Passover Bread Developed in Bucharest Roumania

The kitchens  in Bucharest Rumania have developed a Kosher for Passover bread that uses no leavening whatsoever. It relies on steam and forced air to act in  place of yeast and other leavening agents. Usually Bread is made from Dough and cake is  made from batter, this process uses a rye flour that is mixed with a blend of millet and white flower and formed into a batter which is known as a continues mix then it undergoes a secret process of steaming and forced  air induction  which produces a conventional style  Rye Bread.Thou a white bread won’t be available  for some time this year the Passover rye Bread will be available for Peasach 2022. The taste is indistinguishable  from any other bread made with yeast or other leavening agent.  However it remains unclear whether the Board of Rabbis and Rabbinical organizations will sign off on it , But Hallelujah  its here at last Passover Bread!

Old Time Jewish Eateries Remembered!

I remember old time Jewish Eateries in the 1950’s in  New York  City.One was a Jewish fast food place called “The Kishka King”which specialized in Kishka (Stuffed Derma,10  inch Hot dogs and Charlotte Russe .It was located on Pitkin Ave in Brownsville  B’klyn.Another was Weiss’s Hot Dogs on Cross bay Blvd  before the Far Rockaway toll bridge.In Manhattan there was Glucksterns and Pollacks  thou not delicatessens but fancy kosher restaurant

There was also Dubrows on  Eastern Pkwy in Crown Heights ,Concord and Famous all cafeteria style  eateries(They each gave you a coupon just like Katz Delicatessen Did by punching a hole in that coupon for what you Just purchased ).

There was Ratners dairy Resturant in Manhattan.

I read that in a time frame from 1950 -1970 there were  750 Kosher Delis in Brooklyn and the Bronx alone.

Katz Deli thou not Kosher is still around it remains sort of the like last of the Mohegans.

One provision company started to acquire all the brands of Jewish provisions raising the price so high as to making it out of range for the working mans lunch or family supper spot.In addition  most of the Jews moved out of the old neighborhoods aand as the demographics changed and the new  influx of people didn’t have  a taste for  Jewish Cuisine.

Dubrows became a hang out for old Jewish Men who would sit and drink coffee for hours and bullshit and buy nothing else. I wish these places were  still around today…Like  the Arthur Godfrey song ” I’d give  a million tomorrow s  for just one yesterday.end]
