Why Do I have To Argue every Time I Buy an American Flag or Nontaxable or Non Deposit Item?

Why is it that every time that I go to purchase an American Flag which is a non taxable item by an act of Congress   why must I have to argue not to pay the tax? It’s the principal not the money. It’s only that the shop keeper wants to extract from me and pocket the false tax money that h they collect that  bothers  me. I heard that many shop keepers charge tax but don’t turn it in to the state tax dept or Uncle Sam.They buy lets say $5,000 worth of tobacco products mainly cigarettes and pay the distributor$3,000 in cash and a check for $2000 .Now all the Shopkeeker has to do is turn into  the government on tax collected on  the $2 ,000  ( because that’s all that shows on paper)

So in essence their cheating you and me and the government at the same time.So when I buy a doughnut it is non taxable  but if They serve it to me at a lunch counter they can charge  me sales tax. When I buy  a can of Lemonade (a non carbonated drink )and they charge me deposit which In certain states it’s a non deposit item and I have to call the  manager  of the store ., This most likely is not an accident but done to cheat all of us  plain and  simple , does this happen to you?  It seem that almost all shopkeepers got their hand out for your  non deserved Tax money these days
