Why is it acceptable in America to name a baby an Irish last name for a first name but not a Jewish one?
Why can people name their kids Riley, Shannon, Kelly Or Duffy but not Lerman, Rosenbaum, Goldberg or Kravitz?
I’ll tell you why and this applies equally to all ethic groups not only Jewish it’s because what you’re doing is elevating other culture’s to a higher level than yours and at the same time lowering yours to a level below theirs. There is nothing wrong with Irish last names for first ones but what about a Jew naming his kid a Jewish one How about using for starters Einstein for instance and maybe someday Jewish names will be the norm for all.. who knows..
I remember old time Jewish Eateries in the 1950’s in New York City.One was a Jewish fast food place called “The Kishka King”which specialized in Kishka (Stuffed Derma,10 inch Hot dogs and Charlotte Russe .It was located on Pitkin Ave in Brownsville B’klyn.Another was Weiss’s Hot Dogs on Cross bay Blvd before the Far Rockaway toll bridge.In Manhattan there was Glucksterns and Pollacks thou not delicatessens but fancy kosher restaurant
There was also Dubrows on Eastern Pkwy in Crown Heights ,Concord and Famous all cafeteria style eateries(They each gave you a coupon just like Katz Delicatessen Did by punching a hole in that coupon for what you Just purchased ).
There was Ratners dairy Resturant in Manhattan.
I read that in a time frame from 1950 -1970 there were 750 Kosher Delis in Brooklyn and the Bronx alone.
Katz Deli thou not Kosher is still around it remains sort of the like last of the Mohegans.
One provision company started to acquire all the brands of Jewish provisions raising the price so high as to making it out of range for the working mans lunch or family supper spot.In addition most of the Jews moved out of the old neighborhoods aand as the demographics changed and the new influx of people didn’t have a taste for Jewish Cuisine.
Dubrows became a hang out for old Jewish Men who would sit and drink coffee for hours and bullshit and buy nothing else. I wish these places were still around today…Like the Arthur Godfrey song ” I’d give a million tomorrow s for just one yesterday.end]
Circa 1960 N.Y.C. My cousin had a fleet of Chow Chow cup trucks in which he sold Chinese food off of . not pints and quarts. but in an edible bowl ,containing Chow mein, egg rolls etc. The buisness faded with the perliferation of Chineese take outs in the 1960’s.I think in todays market it can fly once more, he owned the Chow chow cup outright built up routes and sold them in the metropolitan N.Y. and near upstate area of N.Y., .End
For the U.N to call for war crime trials for Israel like that of the Nuremberg trial is beyond any form of decency and for Turkey to ignore NATO drills for some sort of alliance with Syria is equally out of order & must be addressed now . either behind the scenes or by public acclamation so strong as to put them in their place . if its not done and in the most strong language ever by this administrator then we know that their not a friend to Israel as administration past and not in their corner

Egyptian Dictator Hosni Mubarach Has demanded that Jerusalem be returned to Arab sovereignty as a condition of peace. The Arabs want all of Isreal , they would fight tooth and nail if Jewish Control was only one inch of land, what is needed is process with no ultimatums before hand. There isn’t an Arab Country all 22 of them that is a democracy. The Palestinians had the West Bank and Gaza as part of a peace process and they started an uprising and threw it away.
