Back in 1880 when Jews where arriving By thousands from Eastern Europe to the Holy Land , they should have considered Yiddish as The National Language instead of Hebrew, I’m almost 100% certain that many immigrants bound for America and other shores would have opted for Israel had that been the case, After WW11 Yiddish was discouraged Israeli soldiers , they would harass and reprimand new immigrants and admonish them to Speak Hebrew only, it was a major mistake a good deal of American pre WW1 immigrants would have settled in Israel and their grown children would most properly followed. so be the case , it is what it is today. I feel its to late at this juncture in time , It was a major blunder after all Hebrew wasn’t spoken at the fall of Judea , Aramaic was ,so much for tradition. end
